ISSUE 173 - May 2, 2025 - Stamp News Online Magazine
The Best of Stamp News Publishing (SNP)
Greetings!
Lots of content this month as we expand our “Best Of” coverage.
One new piece is the continuation of Geir Sør-Reime’s Landlocked Countries Czechoslovakia article. If there is any need to point out the deluge of propaganda issues from Soviet Bloc countries, this is it.
Another is the continuation of the 6-Cent Lincoln Bank Notes, with extensive new images to support the Stamp Specialist text.
After that, we bring back an important combination of two 1914 by Geir Sør-Reime on the Ukraine and Crimea. That would have been immediately after Russia’s February 1914 invasion of Crimea, and years before the February 1922 invasion and war that we hope will soon be resolved.
Other encores from our wide and varied archives are the Great Britain Dockwra history, Rich Pederson’s 7¢ Prexie Postal History, and Lou Repeta’s Gutter Snipes study.
Finally, concluding this set is a one-page example of a 100 Years Ago feature that we are running in USSN and Mekeel’s & Stamps along with subscription information!
Enjoy!
